MANASSAS MUSEUM - Manassas

Take an exciting journey through history at The Manassas Museum.  Lying midway between Washington, D.C. and the Shenandoah Valley, the rolling plains of Manassas have a rich heritage that is vividly depicted in the Museum’s exhibits, programs, award-winning video, and historic sites. Explore Civil War and railroad history, and African American heritage during special programs commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War. Visit the Southern Railroad Depot and the Hopkins Candy Factory (now the home of the Center for the Arts). Learn about Jennie Dean, a former slave whose words and vision inspired many to help her build the Manassas Industrial School for Colored Youth. Enjoy a picnic lunch and walk the interpretive trails at the nearby Civil War earthwork fortifications of Mayfield and Cannon Branch.
